You'd be surprised, I know a TF comic that has a dark undertone that's been going on for a while that 90% of the people haven't realized cause they're more focused on the art...And that story isn't even in the description it's in the pages itself. Maybe it's more of a TF fan thing or maybe a furry thing in general, but people can sometimes get suuuuuper tunnel visioned and they just really skim or ignore the story around it.

Hector likes Vince for being Vince. There's a reason they're friends. Vince embracing their inner desires doesn't have to change everything, I think. As in all things, there should be balance. Acknowledging certain parts of yourself doesn't always mean throwing away the others that make you you. I'm getting kind of sketchy vibes from the Sylveon influence here - mostly the 'seizing it by force', 'Vince is the problem', that sort of thing, but I could be misreading stuff.

I think the most important thing here would be communication. Speaking with Hector about how Vince feels.

I do think there should be a third path, one where Vince embraces their Sylveon form but over a longer period of time.

Having him decided to embrace it all at once is a bit of an extreme reaction and feels more like a coping mechanism rather than a healthy mental change.

Maybe he could download some self health books, and LGBTQ literature to learn more about themselves and decide how they truly identify and move forward in a more healthy way.

I alwyas like post-tfs where the tfee becomes more confident with their new body but in a story like this it feels like jumping from one extreme to another just because it’s easier rather than what they truly want

Im REALLY digging the way this story's going! Im sensing post tf body dysmorphia as a theme and I'm stoked ot see this, since most of the TF i've read kinda breezes past that. Cant wait to see what happens with Hector and Vince!

I'm not really one who likes TF stories/comics, but this one fascinates me to no end.

To reject oneself so much, to tear yourself apart and try to build someone new from the ruins and remains is not just difficult, it's incredibly stressful and doesn't address the underlying issues that Vince might have. Vince wouldn't be dealing with his problems, he'd be running away from them, leaving them to sooner or later become Sylvy-chan's problems all over again, even if they express themselves differently.

What's being done right now hasn't been working though. Maybe it'll work, but that's the same hope I have for Sylvy-Chan after accepting herself... Though, this does echo some worries I've had about this leading to a complete rejection instead of just a shift.

It wouldn't be accepting herself though. It's trying to embrace an idea of someone new, someone fake, while at the same time suppressing the real person that's grown and developed their entire life, when what Vince needs to do is figure out who he really is, new body or not. Fleeing into this new persona might help briefly, Sylvy-Chan might feel good, even great for a bit. But then the cracks start to show. The contradictions, the forcefulness of this transformation of personality and the strain on Sylvy-Chan's psyche of maintaining this charade, and at that point, will she even remember what being anything else was like?

I think so. But I guess that's really what it comes down to, what we think will happen. I hope that the people who voted were thinking at least about what will happen for the characters.

Seriously though, this seems impossible to have a "correct" answer. What is this secondary "voice"? It seems rather extreme for it to be a separate entity, but it's *so* aggressive, that it seems almost entirely separate from Vince himself. As you've mentioned in a separate post, Vince, in trying to maintain a "middle road", balancing being his "old self"- or at least as close as possible- and being the cheery and bombastic "Sylvy-chan" on-stream, practically unrecognizable from how Hector knows him as, he's struggling to do either, barely functioning as an adult by himself, with immense stress from his time spent streaming, the choices for him here are two extremes. Him trying to remain as the same "Vince" from before will almost inevitably fail, barely functioning as he is, and- although this could be my bias, or overreaching in general- potentially have him remain in some sort of identity discomfort, as he'd lock himself out of most, if not all experimentation. While completely adopting Sylvy as her(?) identity would result in such a significant shift of personality, almost assuredly resulting in causing Hector immense worry, seeing such a drastic change of someone close to him, over (I forget how long but) seemingly a few days to a couple weeks, likely reminding him of a similar scenario back when Vince/Sylvy "evolved", and what if this *is* a genuine "hostile takeover", and this "voice" *is* a separate entity? Neither option seems like it'd end well for Vince/Sylvy, however *not* picking has been shown to fail, as well, I do hope/wish there is/was a way for this to end well, perhaps more of a 20/80 or 80/20 split of these options? We'll see, whatever you come up with.
