This picture was good practice for blending colours together. The idea for this picture has actually been with me for several years, that being what a mermaid would look like if they evolved to exist in a scaulding hot enviroment. I imagined them being covered in thick plates acting a both protection and possible camoflauge, as well as sort of a second set of teeth in place of lips to protect from ingesting hot fluids. I kind think the fluid would be more like a thick, semi-trasparent thermal heated mud like substance, similiar to the muddy areas around volcanos or geysers.
