In Halcyon, there are few who resist the inevitable call of surrender. Fundamentally, to enter such a place one needs to already be depraved, so those who resist are nearly unprecedented.
Among the many chasms of euphoria and pleasure, there are drainage channels below, cycling out the essence of those trapped in many bad ends. Those that survive, will find themselves wading through such sunken passageways, and in their refusal to surrender they will be hunted.
Death, or a last chance at giving into temptation. Such is the ultimatum a Drainage Warden poses, of which there numbers more than few, but less than many. The product of demonic-mortal fusion made one.

In Halcyon there are lesser, normal and greater Daemons of various elements of lust and depravity. A normal or greater Daemon can easily overtake a mortal mind if they wanted to, but a lesser Daemon will typically ended up more so merging than overtaking a host, and in doing so, they’ll mutate to reflect the nature of the Daemon. So in essence it’s surrendering control to a weaker Daemon that is incapable of full possession.
