An error in planning on my part left me only one full day in Vienna. My long-time friend,
Adumbratio helped me make the most of my short time in this amazing city.
It is common enough to find busking musicians in a city the size of Vienna. What one doesn’t expect to find is an equine accordion player. Adumbratio argued that the guy probably didn’t know more than two songs and begged me not to encourage him. Even so, I couldn’t resist taking a photo of this stallion to close out my record of a truly amazing European adventure.

Adumbratio didn't want you to encourage a musician? *tsk tsk*
I like this fellow on a few levels.
I did a lot of busking while I was in college, and I still feel an affinity for street performers.
He's playing an accordion...not a common busker's choice of instrument. Very cool!
He's wearing an equine head while playing an accordion. This guy is truly different...

Adumbratio has had bad experiences with loud, annoying street musicians setting up near his apartment. So I understand his disapproval of them. Personally, I was amused by his chosen instrument and his unique costume.
Thanks for commenting and for the faves, Gus.

Given that bit of information, I understand and respect Adumbratio's disapproval, and as a former busker myself, I'm sorry that he had to endure such an annoyance, which an ill-placed busker can certainly be.
In my busking days, I stuck to the Halifax/Dartmouth ferry terminal and the boardwalk, the path that connected Spring Garden Road and Argyle Street, and the liquor store on Birmingham Street. They were all good foot traffic spots, and people didn't live nearby.
If you're going to do this, it's important to know where you're playing. The idea is to be a fun diversion for the passersby, not a public nuisance.

to explain my dismay a bit ^^
In the last ~15 years, particularly in the very touristy inner city, this has been overtaken by organized gangs (almost Mafia like structures with family clans)
not only bringing organized beggars and pickpocketers, but also these 'musicians'
and displace the local 'real' artists/beggars/homeless sometimes even with quite a bit of violence
The guy playing there sure was a poor guy as well, as he would have had to give 95% of what he made to his 'boss'
And if deemed to have made to few he might have got beaten,
without doubt, a poor guy and an other victim
but still part of a criminal structure, and I cant support that
other example would be a guy (badly) singing in the sector where I live,
and that guy had a handicapped dog with a doggy wheel chair,
and then a wonder happened, a week or so later the old dog had gotten younger, no longer a white muzzle
and the missing hindlegs had regrown, but were broken/without function.
and two weeks later an other wonder happened, where the dog changed race, going from something fluffy like a Spitz to Dachshund but still in the wheel chair
..I mean I am in lack or words, ...animal cruelty as pity-booster?!

I can't help but hear the Bojack Horseman theme song. "Back in the 90s, I was in a famous TV Show..."

Perhaps even a particular down-in his luck horse actor(s)?
