The creature is waiting for someone or something, perhaps nervous >.>
A little bit about the body: the "ears" of this creature are sensitive translucent membranes that capture both the ambient temperature and fluctuations in the air on a par with ordinary ears. They are laid out in different shapes, like a radar, to study the surroundings. They are prone to injury and with proper effort, these membranes can be torn, which will leave the creature deaf and a little disoriented. However, the membranes can regrow if the previous ones are lost or worn out. This takes time and makes the creature vulnerable during the recovery process.
