Haruki is a cat-bear hybrid, son of Kai and Harley.
He was the result of his parents' various romantic pranks. Kai and Harley were always friends with benefits and never tried anything more serious, although Harley was willing to try if Kai wanted.
When Haruki was born, Kai's second daughter (Sam) was already 5 years old and the cat was raising her as a single father. The situation at that time was a bit complicated and Kai was experiencing some work-related problems.
Harley also wasn't the most responsible person in the world and she didn't want to bother Kai with yet another child, so the bear decided to leave her son with her mother for a while, until things got back to normal.
Despite the problems, both Kai and Harley visited their son every weekend and made a point of being present in his lives.
Haruki has a funny view of his parents, seeing them as somewhat irresponsible and perhaps clumsy.
For Haruki, Harley is the typical cool and young mother, who ends up being a little childish from time to time. He feels that he ends up being more mature than her in many situations.
While Kai...Haru sometimes finds it difficult to get close to his father, as no matter how much he tries to always be there, he seems distant. Still, Haruki admires Kai for always doing his best to be a part of his life and take care of him.
Haruki prefers to call his parents by their names instead of father and mother.
About being a hybrid.
Haruki doesn't mind being a hybrid, in fact, there are many hybrids in the city, however, most citizens think it's weirder when it's a human hybrid with any other species. Humans are still minorities in this city of animals, so children of humans with another species is considered weird.
relationship with siblings
Haruki gets along well with his sister, Sam. Furthermore, Sam finds his younger brother mature and intelligent for his age. However, the young hybrido doesn't get along with his older brother, Leon. This comes from the fact that Leon was raised by Julia (Kai's ex-wife) and returned years later, acting rebelliously.
