Earlier this year, I was commissioned by a NASA engineer to design a potential mission patch for the Lunar Terrain Vehicle that will launch as part of the Artemis program. NASA was still vetting contracts on who will design the final rover -and the rover itself wasn't finalized yet- so I had to opt for something a bit more symbolic. Unfortunately, I didn't make the final cut, but I figure the design is furry-adjacent enough to post here.

The submitted write-up is as follows:

"In the days of antiquity, the golden chariot of Artemis was said to be driven by a team of four golden-horned deer. One of those
deer -itself an autonomous, quadrupedal conveyance- is pictured upon the surface of the moon, its body colored a glowing blue as
a representation of the Earth and its explorers. Though it dwells on the moon, the deer’s gaze is turned upwards to the stars and
the cosmos beyond. An arrow-like craft and trajectory travels upward past the surface moon to the distant planet Mars. The scene
itself is contained within an arrow-shaped border, evoking the NASA Artemis logo and the arrowhead of Artemis herself."
