Dur’gann Island is an oddity in America. Though an isolated area with a small population, people tend to lock their doors. No one can exactly explain why they do it. Some point to the forest preserve and say they’re just wary of something wild accidentally getting into their home. They also use that as their explanation as to why, even though there is no hunting on the island, everyone seems to own at least one shotgun. Double-aught buckshot after all is a solution to a many a problem.
Some might mention that the noises that are heard at night just don’t seem right. They will then advise you to ignore it. You might be curious enough to wander into the North Woods alone but it is suggested instead to just call the ranger station in the morning to make a report about a possible wounded animal. A rational person just goes back to sleep.
