Kiki’s farm was our last station on our round trip. Farm is maybe the wrong word. The building used to be a four floor storage building. But now she and her husband are renovating it bit by bit. Kiki has visited us during the past days again and again. You can call her the helping hand of the caravan owner, but she is also trainer of the local junior American Football team.

Behind the house there are large pasture lands, enough room not only Rose and Jack, but also for Kiki’s horses. She used to breed Appaloosas. But one year she had to put six horses to sleep. Accidents, sickness, stupid accidents, you name it. And in the end she gave up, neutered her two stallions sold the rest of the horses except for four she grew too fond of.

We sit with Kiki and her husband in their garden, have barbecue and drinks and talk and talk and talk. It’s hard to believe that tomorrow will be our last day. Hadn’t it been just yesterday that we tried to catch our eloped Haflingers?
