it worked a bit more smoothly than your picture actually. And Prost couldn't take much advantage out of this car at all actually, because his driving style wasn't as aggressive like Mansell in 1992.
And to be fair, the McLaren MP4-8 was much more advanced, it was just too underpowered and the engine was unreliable.

I was 4yo in 1993, so I don't remember this Season very well.
However, there is young french youtuber named Le Circuit who began the season review about this year when Senna and Prost fought for the last time in an ultimate duel. Thanks to him, I can revive it.

I was very young at the time too, but I'm very glad F1 from that era already had pretty good coverage in media so we can always rewatch the races, learn more about things that were not public at the time and so on. What an epic time that was! I have much love for current F1 but historic stuff is always fun to enjoy too!
