Description:
Ha-Joon, an American octopus born with Korean descent, hailed from some sandy town in Texas oddly named Octaland, as it was full of octopi. He was pretty well respected, not due to his cowboy persona (hence his nickname "Octopus Cowboy"), but also due to ensuring safety among his townsfolk, as Octaland apparently lack any element of law enforcement. He was also a very good entertainer to everyone he met, wanting ensure happiness despite the current environment. However, many neighboring towns considered him to be the only best thing Octaland had ever had, as some would actually come and see him for entertainment, because for some unknown its founder decided to build his own town just 100 miles (or almost 161 km) away from the Gulf of Mexico, not that any townsfolk would care, well except for Ha-Joon. On the bright side, Octaland did have a large water tower well connected to the gulf via underground pipes.
Unfortunately, there came one day when the 10-year-old pipes wore down, severing the water tower in the process. With no one else in Octaland and its neighbors around with some knowledge of plumbing, Ha-Joon went to the Calhoun County to get the plumbers to fix the water pipes, but to no avail. However, a humanitarian worker named Daniel Lou Adamantha butted himself in and pursuaded the said plumbers to help Ha-Joon out, which succeeded in the purple octopus' favor. Adamantha further revealed he had been planning to study the current circumstances around Octaland, in which Ha-Joon was eager to bring him in. It turned out that many neighboring towns had run out of groundwater and become reliant on Octaland's water supply, which consequently fastened the decay of its pipes, which were supposed to last and be replaced in 50 more years. For a week, those water pipes had been replaced and additions were implemented to spread into Octaland's neighbors, thereby allowing them to thrive without overreliance. Satisfied, Daniel revealed his mission to provide better access to essentials for children around the world and personally offered the fully impressed Ha-Joon to join the international humanitarian organization, in which the octopus happily obliged.
For two years Ha-Joon accompanied Daniel on his mission to help children across East Africa, but it came to an abrupt stop when Daniel had hit a landmine while escorting children to safety in Ethiopia. Having been prematurely discharged from work from losing his left leg, Daniel requested Ha-Joon to bring him to the town of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France to see his daugther Jacqueline. While staying with Daniel, Ha-Joon became good friends with Jacqueline, through playing on snow and discussing mostly over the ways to help children grow up a better and safer life. As soon as Jacqueline turned 20, Daniel asked Ha-Joon to accompany her to his former work office in New York, insisting he would be fine staying with his wife and his elderly mother, in which the octopus solemnly obliged. Ha-Joon would then help train Jacqueline through various life-saving practices in six years.
By the end of June 2021, Jacqueline had to leave for Brisa Creek, concerned about orphans being hurt there, allowing Ha-Joon to take charge of her work in her absence. But on October 12 on the same year, Jacqueline returned, only to reveal herself to be big and muscular, shocking and concerning her co-workers, including Ha-Joon, but she assured that she could be able to use her strength to protect children from danger. As soon as she plotted to go to Ethiopia to fulfill her father's mission, she enouraged Ha-Joon to look into the MALAKAS Project, especially involving its benefits, in which he reluctantly did so.
After having signed himself in for the MALAKAS Project, Ha-Joon started training in the mountain base on October 23, but was also put immediately as the next head of the Emergency Response Division, whose emergency services would be quickly provided to Recruits in urgent need. Apparently, its workers knew much about him, mainly because Jacqueline told much about him and her co-workers, as well as their mission to help provide essentials to children across the world. He also took time to entertain recruits whenever he felt like it. And well, the rest of his experience in training was at best as generic as many other recruits.
Once honorably discharged, Ha-Joon returned to New York, only to see Jacqueline and their co-workers back. They confirmed success in their mission in Ethiopia, and asked him to join them on their next one to South Sudan. Ha-Joon, having missed going out with his co-workers, happily agreed.
