(We've reached Day 20 of our AUvent Calendar, and we find ourselves in the AU based on the Legend of Zelda franchise. Where a fateful encounter takes place for its versions of Ben and Kat.)

Deep within the land of Midrule, at the arena within the lair of the Yiga Clan. A garbed orange swordsman was catching his breath while wielding the legendary Master Sword in his right hand. While in front of him, two hostile figures were in front of him. One of them he had been fighting previously, before the second joined in to intervene. As the match against swordsman and enforcer was about to commence... Their right hands started to glow, and a piece of a legendary force manifested after sensing each other!

Let's rewind first.

The swordsman was Ben. He was born into a family of knights whose duty were to protect the royal family of Midrule... As well as the holder of the Triforce of Duty, which manifested when he first meet Princess Brunhilda while still a baby some time after his birth, when her Triforce of Order reacted to his piece. From that day, the Sullicoot was assigned to become the Champion of Midrule once he came of age due to his dedication and loyalty to his kingdom. Some time after he became the Champion, his adventures took him to where the Blade of Evil's Bane, the Master Sword had been sealed. And despite concerns, Ben gripped the sword, and pulled it from the stone it was sealed in. Having been recognised as its wielder in the process!

One day, Ben had been summoned to the throne room where the king of Midrule assigned him an urgent task. To eliminate the Yiga Clan, as they proved a potential threat to the kingdom. Especially Princess Brunhilda as well. He was soon informed that the Yiga Clan were formed of Sheikah who defected from the royal family out of mistreatment and betrayal, and soon to serve a darker force in an attempt to eliminate any champions that could become a threat to them. Including Brunhilda and potentially Ben as well. The hybrid soon accepted, and was given the location of the Yiga Clan's lair to eliminate them before they could grow stronger.

Once Ben infiltrated the Yiga Clan's lair, he waited until night fell to blend in with the darkness. Then began making his way through it while taking care of any Yiga Clan members before they could spot him, and alert their comrades. He even used their love of bananas to his advantage at times. Either to ambush or sneak by them, or to solve puzzles. Once he was satisfied, only the leader remained. And once he made it to the snow covered arena, out came Kigu. The leader of the Yiga Clan. And soon... The fight began! One that tested Ben's resolve, as he was quick on his feet and using his skills and items to his advantage to defeat Kigu!

Before the swordsman could finish off the Yiga Clan's top banana, a sickle clashed with the Master Sword, before Ben was knocked back but managing to quickly get back on his feet to see the enforcer who Kigu called Kat.

Kat wasn't always a member of the Yiga Clan however. He was an orphan never really knew his parents, and was forced to steal to survive. One day as he was starving, he saw two members of the Yiga Clan and begged for food. Before they could do him harm, Kigu ordered them to back away and offered the young cat-man a Mighty Banana to help regain his strength. Touched by the Yiga Clan leader's kindness, Kat ultimately swore loyalty and became a member of the inverted eye. As years passed, he climbed up the ranks until he became the leader's right-hand man. However, he also harbored feelings. And despite potential risks, confessed them to Kigu. Only to be surprised and relieved when he found out his leader felt the same, and the two soon entered a relationship with each other.

Kat wasn't going to let Ben kill the man who saved his life, as well as his lover. And swore to defend Kigu's life to the very end, even if it meant sacrificing his own to let his leader escape. But before the both of them began to fight, their right hands started to glow! And they were both shocked to find out that they both had a piece of the Triforce that they were born with! The Triforce of Duty for Ben, and the Triforce of Heart for Kat! The shock of what they just learned made them completely unaware of a bright star that lit up the snowy night sky, even if it was ultimately harmless

This revelation shook the both of them, but they soon started feeling a dark presence making itself known around the world. It was terrifying, even for Kigu as well. Recalling the legend of the Triforce, Ben proposed a truce with Kat. Suggesting that they put their differences aside to work together to combat it. And despite the initial relunctance of the Yiga Clan's enforcer for the irony, Kat agreed. While Ben would need to report this to the king and Princess Brunhilda, he, Kat and Brunhilda would end up finding themselves brought together by the fate and power of the pieces of the Triforce they were given against the dark force of evil.
