This story is based slightly in truth, though it wasn't something that happened to me. When my friends and I were troublesome teens we had a great mechanic who worked on all of our cars and was really nice to all of us. He was the type of mechanic that told you exactly what he was doing, and showed you what was wrong. He didn't talk down to you, and made sure you really understood the problem. He's definitely one of the reasons I understand cars as well as I do, because he explained everything so well.

Anyway! Because we were friendly he'd tell us stories all the time too. One such story was of him being at a gas station as two prototype cars drove up, one of them having a leak. He told the people he could fix it and they told him no, they had to let the parts fail. Given this weeks prompt and the car that my mechanic was talking about, I thought this was a perfect story to retell in Shelby's universe. I don't want to give the car in question away but I also don't think it would be hard to figure out. I can let people know if they are curious but I'm sure someone's gonna know after reading the story!
