Knowing that Jack wouldn’t like to spend the last night alone we decided that it would be best to allow him to go with Rose to the draft horses. I lead Rose back to her pasture and to my surprise she made no attempt to dictate the speed. It really seemed as if she had accepted my lead. Eventually we made eye contact with her herd and she gave a deep, happily growling nicker. No sooner did she call than four big draft horses came running, shaking the ground with their bass drum like hooves.

Jack really looked like a tiny slim pony next to the Heavies. He seemed to be unsure and sticked to Rose’s side – who was more interested in the green grass than into her holiday pickup. Tiny Mouse, a black Rhineland Heavy Draft, seemed to be very unsatisfied with Rose’s new shadow and she tried to scare Jack away. But he was pretty persistent.

Mr. and Mrs. Nanuk, Mrs Hugin and me spent the last evening in a local restaurant. It felt good to go through our memories and plan ahead for the future. Just the perfect wrap up for the week.
