As I said in my recent journal, I'm trying to improve my hand inking capability. As such, I've been working on ink sketches done purely by hand. No pen tool, no text tool, (Although I'm not planning on giving that second one up anytime soon). Just the brush and eraser.
It's a bit harder to color this sort of drawing, though. Hopefully this turned out well, though!

It's a bit harder to color when it's hand inked, as the Magic Wand can't pick out areas bounded by ink quite as easily. But I feel that the livelyness that hand inking helps me to achieve is well worth the effort! ^ ^
I'm also trying to improve my posing, and being less afraid of throwing about motion lines, sound effects, sweat drops, and other effects. I think that that probably helped a lot with getting it to seem much more dynamic. Which makes it look so much better, in my opinion.
