I wanted to make a simple Christmas art but have a meaning behind it.
To put melancholy in a minimum, the year wasn't so great, and we had so many losses. One of the losses that hurts me deeply is the creator of one of my favorite franchises, as well as most of every other anime buffs in the entire world, Akira Toriyama. I still couldn't believe it had happened, even after I made a quick sketch in response to the devastating news

Even so, his works, not just Dragon Ball, but also Dr. Slump, Sand Land, Dragon Quest (as an art direction, that is), and a few others, his own style remains unforgettable to every one of us, and his imagination runs wild for all of his peers to share with and inspire us.
With that, I decided to honor him by recreating one of his works involving Christmas with Nicky and one of her children, Hiero in place with Goku and Bulma.

I don't know what will 2025 hold for us, and it can be scary for some of us, but no matter what happens, we gotta cherish everything we hold dear and power ourselves thru many challenges we may not expected.
Let Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, whatever holiday you're celebrating in this season, be your moment to care for everything what matters to you, what inspires you, and what you want to share with.
And Christmas cheers to you and all of your fans, Toriyama-san ❤️ 🎄
