The power had been out for nearly half an hour. Remy was having another sleepover with Bradley at his house. They were having fun in their bath when the power went out. Now they were stranded in the dark.
"I'm getting cold," said Remy. I think we should get out."
Bradley sighed. "I think you're right. But let's try to stay quiet, okay?"
"Agreed," Remy whispered. "Take my hand."
Together, they quietly climbed out of the tub. Bradley reached out in the darkness. "I can't find the towels, it's too-- oh, here they are."
He handed Remy his towel and they dried themselves in the dark.
"Now we got to find our pajamas," said Remy.
"I know," said Bradley. "I feel them right here. Yes, take 'em."
It took the two friends a couple of tries before they were both dressed. It was much more difficult in the dark.
Suddenly the power came back on, restoring light back into the house.
Remy and Bradley cheered.
"What do you think happened?" asked Remy.
"Beats me," said Bradley. "Maybe somebody crashed into a pole."
Just then, they heard the front door open.
"Bradley! Remy!" Mrs. Hare called. "We're home."
The boys ran out to greet them. "Hey," said Mr. Hare, "Look what we got."
Bradley's parents carried a large pine tree into the living room.
"It's our Christmas tree!" cried Mrs. Hare.
"Alright!" cried Bradley. "It's beautiful."
Remy was impressed as well.
Bradley told his parents about the power outage.
"I know," said his father. "It was very dark coming home. They said there was an electrical fire somewhere in town. They had to cut the power."
"Wow," said Bradley amazed.
Remy suddenly noticed something different about Bradley, then was shocked.
"Bradley," he whispered, "I think you're wearing my pajamas."
Bradley gasped. "Yeah, and you're wearing mine."
It was true. Remy and Bradley had gotten their pajamas mixed up in the dark.
The two friends laughed.
"I think we'd better trade." said Remy. "Right now."
"Agreed." laughed Bradley.
They quietly ran back to Bradley's room before his parents noticed. They couldn't help laughing as they exchanged their pajamas.
