A story that is sort of based around the image above, but with rapid digestion instead!
A belch rocked the quite mountain airfield, shaking trees and rattling the concrete of the worn runways. Spawled in the centre of the port was a dragon, huffing contently as it settled down for the biggest meal it had devoured in a long time. Packed into it's gurgling stomach, was a small passenger aircraft, which had landed at the airport only hours before, only to now fall victim to a hungry dragon only minutes before it was supposed to take off. As the dragoness had devoured the craft, the passengers who had been preparing to board rushed away screaming in terror. The pilots and plane staff, dived out of the doorways just before the openings vanished into mouth. The spectacle only lasted 2 minutes, as the dragoness had devoured the machine at a steady pace, wagging it's tail in enjoyment as with it's feasting, it casually defied all laws of physics. It's maw had stretched around the plane with gulp after gulp, fitting around the wings, the body, the tail, before with a final swallow; the plane disappeared. Sealed forever within a dragon's depths. Faintly, the noise of the jet engines could still be heard, which were still somehow operating within the dragon's stomach (although, that would quickly prove to not be the case for long). The Humans watched from the windows of the terminal, many with mouths hanging open in shock and silence. Too baffled to even reach for their phones to record what they were seeing.
A loud rumble like distant thunder rolled over the field, as the dragoness shifted, adjusting herself on top of her meal. Her plane-shaped midsection, while acting as a bed, already began to gurgle and churn at the strange food, that was nothing like the deer, other animals, or occasional hikers it was used to digesting. The tube like shape stretched far out behind the dragon, while the shape of the huge wings in the stomach was almost comedic. Nonetheless; food was food. If some of the onlookers were to say anything about it, the dragoness looked rather smug, as a second less powerful burp was released.
Suddenly, a new noise came over the small area. Mixed with the loud rumbles and growls which were becoming louder and more frequent, was a creaking sound. The structure of the aircraft visibly bent slightly inside the gut, as the powerful acids began to eat away at it's structural integrity. More creaking was heard, as the dragon shifted herself again, this time looking a bit uncomfortable about something.
The first crack happened so fast nobody had time to predict it. Nor the dragoness for that matter. One of the planes wings, weakened by the unrelenting stomach conditions, crunched inward as it was snapped and bent in the half, pinning it to the main body of the plane. For a moment, the dragon looked suprised, before the same, satisfied look came over it's face. The gurgling seemed to become louder, sloshing around the plane as digestion began to enter high-gear. With more groans, the tail of the plane began to lift slowly, higher and higher as the tail fins warped and melted. The dragon belched again, as yet more gasses were expelled from the gastric organ. Only now however, the belch was smoky. No doubt it was the jet engines starting to malfunction, as they struggled to operate inside the acidic, cruel conditions. With another crunch, the end of the plane was snapped forward, as the stomach grew ever tighter around it's mechanical prey.
The airport passengers and staff just watched, as a powerful machine of human innovation was succumbed to it's superior natural counter-part. As the minutes past, the rough gurgles and churns were gradually replaced with heavy sloshes and groans as the dragon's digestive tract struggled to process and absorb all this 'food'. Shortly after, the second wing failed; crunched up like the first one was, with the front of the plane following suit. After a short-while longer, the crunches, sizzles, and creaks which had plagued the ears of the witnesses since the incident faded out. The plane was gone. No long solid, but what was left of it was just a soupy mush of metal, wires, and plastic inside a dragon. Standing up for the first time, the dragon shook herself off gracefully, with her belly only just missing the ground. With a stretch, the dragoness showed off her gut, giving it a sloshy sway towards the still flabbergasted humans, before heading off.
With a stretch of her wings and a flick of her tail, the dragon flew off. Wings beating heavily to get it off the ground with so much weight still in it's stomach. No matter. It would fly back to it's cave and finish digesting. Smirking at the proud humans, which had claimed planes to be superior to all other flying creatures.
'Can't compete with my offers for air travel, if the humans don't have any planes.' She thought, chuckling, feeling her stomach slosh in mid-air.
As for the humans who witnessed the event. Nobody would believe them. Instead, dead-end investigations were made, which obviously never found the plane or the dragoness.
Judging how many aircraft had been disappearing, who knew how many planes had been churned down by a hungry dragon? It's certainly one way to dominate your competition, that's for sure.
Just a piece I put together. I enjoyed making this, I'll admit.

Dragons are by far the best choice of travel, and she decided to prove it... by showing how completely inferior human planes are to dragons. In the actual sequence, it took her a good few hours to melt down that nasty, pollution-belching machine, but she got the job done nicely. And, she got some padding for the winter! It get's cold in Europe's mountains.
She seemed to like digesting that plane though... hopefully she'll just stick to conventional prey and not try to eat anything else!
I am definitely considering making her an official reoccurring character of mine. Sure she eats people (and now possibly planes), but looking how cute a derg she is! Surely you wouldn't get mad at her?
