A meeting had been planned for a while… but it was not always possible.

I remember that Arami, our crazy tyrica, knew some English, and Loly at least heard some German. I was quite afraid that we would not be able to communicate, since I do not understand other languages ​​very well, but it was our luck, we would see how to make it easy.

One summer day, Loly, José and I pooled our savings, and Arami took care of the travel expenses, contacting a travel agency, since he understood the whole process.

Moonpaw's communications with me were even more exciting. In our constant messages we gave each other ideas of what to do and where to go, I with my old maps of Colombia and Panama, some others of Yucatan or Curacao… Cuba was reserved for us as a last resort, since it has restrictions for tourism. We wanted to visit the “Jardines de la Reina” Archipelago, a paradise in the Caribbean…

Loly, a skilled cartographer, took out of her personal files the most up-to-date maps of the possible places, and the decision would be difficult, due to the cost and rental of the equipment…
- Where will we meet, Saiyuki? (Moompaw sentenced seriously).
- I don't know… I don't even know the place… there are many options but I dream of visiting Cuba…

Photos, places, currency calculations, quotes from euros to dollars, guaraníes to dollars, pesos, etc.. What madness!!! José asked for early vacations in the navy for December and January, Loly did the same with her unit, and Arami finished his academic year at the university he attended.

The drama was how to do it.. I never traveled abroad, which scared me a little to do it. But Loly and José gave me enough confidence to do it, since they already traveled...

The Caribbean was stunning, and the four of us were enthralled by the beauty of the place... and we arrived at the beach. Moonpaw was waiting for us there, sitting under some coconut trees. While we were unloading our bags, he told us that he toured the place and found places to dive...

Everyone was getting ready for the dive, some putting on their suits, others adjusting their equipment, and so, between chats and laughs they reached their destination, Drake Island.

Vacaciones tropicales en el Caribe (regalo)
Los mensajes de texto, fotos y chats compartidos con Moonpaw eran incesantes. Tanto él como yo compartimos algo muy importante y en común, adentrarnos en el agua y descubrir sus misterios, a los dos nos gusta bucear.

Hacía tiempo que se había planeado un encuentro… pero no siempre era posible.

Recuerdo que Arami, nuestra loca tirica, sabía algo de inglés, y Loly al menos oía algo de alemán. Tenía bastante miedo de que no lográramos comunicarnos, ya que yo no entiendo muy bien otros idiomas, pero fue nuestra suerte, veríamos cómo hacerlo fácil.

Un día de verano, Loly, José y yo juntamos nuestros ahorros, y Arami se hizo cargo de los gastos del viaje, poniéndose en contacto con una agencia de viajes, ya que entendía todo el proceso.

Las comunicaciones de Moonpaw conmigo fueron aún más emocionantes. En los constantes mensajes nos dábamos ideas de qué hacer y a dónde ir, yo con mis viejos mapas de Colombia y Panamá, algunos otros de Yucatán o Curazao… Cuba nos la reservaban como último recurso, ya que tiene restricciones para el turismo. Queríamos visitar el Archipiélago de los “Jardines de la Reina”, un paraíso en el Caribe…

Loly, hábil cartógrafa, sacó de sus archivos personales los mapas más actualizados de los lugares posibles, y la decisión se haría difícil, por el costo y el alquiler del equipo…
- Dónde nos encontraremos, Saiyuki? (sentenció Moompaw con seriedad).
- No sé… ni siquiera conozco el lugar… hay muchas opciones pero sueño con visitar Cuba…
- ¿Allí no habrá problemas?
- No sé Dirk… te juro que sólo Arami tiene esa información…
- Lo animo a que se apure un poco. Viajaré de Alemania a México en vuelo directo con Lufthansa para la semana de mi cumpleaños..
- Haré todo lo posible para conseguir y preparar todo para esa semana..

Fotos, lugares, cálculos de divisas, cotizaciones de euros a dólares, guaraníes a dólares, pesos, etc.. ¡¡¡Qué locura!!! José pidió vacaciones anticipadas en la armada para diciembre y enero, Loly hizo lo mismo con su unidad, y Arami terminó su año académico en la universidad a la que asistía.

El drama fue cómo hacerlo.. Nunca viajé al extranjero, lo que me asustó un poco hacerlo. Pero Loly y José me dieron la suficiente confianza para hacerlo, ya que ellos ya viajaron...
- ¡¡¡Tranquilo Saiyuki!!!. No es nada del otro mundo viajar al extranjero (Dijo José con una serenidad fenomenal)

- Y desde la Ciudad de México, tomaré un vuelo a Panamá. Tal vez nos encontremos allí. Y luego iremos a Portobelo... ¿Qué dicen tus amigos, Saiyuki?
- Ya saben que iremos allí... seguro que llegas primero, por favor espéranos Dirk y luego dinos dónde te hospedas para que podamos ir los cuatro contigo.
- Así es... ¿Hay algo que yo quiera saber y tú me quieras decir?
- Nuestra amiga Arami: ella no es buceadora certificada, pero ha buceado mucho... Que sea nuestro secreto: enséñale algunos trucos... ¡es una jovencita curiosa!

El día del viaje llegó... José, como de costumbre, preparó su máscara Ocean Reef y Loly su cámara... El resto, lo alquilaríamos en el lugar cuando llegáramos.

Desde la ciudad de Panamá, Portobelo está a unos 100 km al norte, al que llegamos en taxi en una hora y media.

El Caribe era impresionante, y los cuatro quedamos embelesados ​​por la belleza del lugar... y llegamos a la playa. Moonpaw nos esperaba allí, sentado bajo unos cocoteros. Mientras descargábamos nuestras maletas, nos contó que recorrió el lugar y encontró lugares para bucear...
- ¿No estás cansado? El viaje es largo desde Sudamérica, ¿verdad?

Así que todos subieron al bote, y mientras tardaban en llegar, Loly conversaba con el capitán sobre el lugar para bucear, y le mostraba su mapa donde estaban los otros sitios... el capitán marcaba los puntos, y había incluso más de los que Loly sabía!!!.

Todos se preparaban para la inmersión, algunos poniéndose los trajes, otros ajustando sus equipos, y así, entre charlas y risas llegaron a su destino, Isla Drake.
- Todos revisaron su equipo y el de sus amigos, ¿no???
- Sí, lo revisamos por suerte... no creo que haya problemas...
