Barging has a great many uses. Here's a few I can list off the top of my head. Knocking an enemy into a wall then crushing them between your head and the wall (or freezing them there if that's what you were going for), or off a ledge, into another enemy, knocking them down on the ground so they have no footing to retaliate as you hit them or occupy them with trying to get up while you deal with other threats, breaking through mage barriers in one hit (as demonstrated), or busting off armour (also as demonstrated).

Whatever you do, do not barge into the head of a spear (especially a dragonsbane one) one fatal error could break your combo streak and cause the enemy to get the upper hand in an instant.
