Now that you know how the frost ball functions, here's a little hint on some of the uses you can get out of freezing foes solid. Do this to an airborne enemy and watch them plummet and shatter on the ground, barge frozen enemies for massive damage (especially those frozen against a wall). Or you can mix other elemental arts creatively for efficiency or sheer amusement.
