100 Years of Balto.
Hi there everybody. Some of you might know me under the same username on deviantart.com. https://www.deviantart.com/emberwolfsart . For all the new ones: I thought this project might be good to upload here as well. Balto is my favorite movie and how I got introduced to the true story.
So here is my official announcement for a project I been working on for years. Next year 2025 is the 100th anniversary of the serum run. It begun on the 27th of January and was a relay of 20 sledteams (might be 19 dog teams with the Noller brothers using the same team) across Alaska in a race against time to save Nome and they did the journey in only five days. On the 2nd of February 1925 the last team made it into Nome with Musher Gunnar Kaasen and his lead dogs Fox and Balto. Sadly a lot of every human and dogs bravery was lost in media and Balto got a lot of fame when it was truly a team effort in a relay. As a tribute to my favourite movie of the event I will upload (as far as it is possible) something Balto-related each day of 2025. Yes you heard me right. So let’s not waste any time: first upload will be on the 31st of December. (And yes…there will be a lot of puppy Balto). Follow the journey here:
“Dedicated to the indomitable spirit of the sled dogs that relayed antitoxin six hundred miles over rough ice, across treacherous waters, through Arctic blizzards from Nenana to the relief of stricken Nome in the Winter of 1925.”

Of course, it would be really interesting to see it. I am already liked your first/title drawing of your project and your description was interesting to read. By the way, I am also will do celebrate a 10 years of my fan to Balto in 2025. This is still a one of my most favorite animated features too.
I am fully agree. I am always loved in Balto it's atmosphere and art style. And also a design of characters was a one of my favorite and inspiring. I think Balto is a movie for all times with a heartwarming story, great graphic design and sound.

I still remember how I was listening a few tracks from Balto OST separately. James Horner was a talented composer and he made a beautiful soundtrack for Balto and other movies.
You maybe also remember about the Universal Pictures intro in Balto? I am for a pretty long time thought that this melody was only in Balto. And I was surprised when I discovered that this intro of Universal Pictures in the 90s was also composed by James Horner and that is was a standard opening which was used in a few other movies as well. This variation of intro was simply one of my favourites, and the fact that fanfare and the OST of Balto were made by the same composer makes the music harmonious.
You are welcome again and I am happy to hear about it. And maybe if you wouldn't be mind, would you be comfortable to continue in Notes, if you would like?

Yupp I was so bummed when they did not use his music for the logo anymore. It is so beautiful and I also always think of Balto when hearing it- it suits the movie perfectly. Yeah this is my favourite soundtrack along with Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron and Lion King.
