The 2003 Master Splinter is one of my favorite iterations of the character, and it's one of the first that I ever actually liked a rat character.
He's got a charm on me, even before what I knew what a furry was, but I felt he was one of those things that steered me in that direction.
There was this thought in my head of Master Splinter wanting to go back to his country of origin and wishing to experience his roots. That's how this piece came to be.
I tried using his 2003's dark orange colors for his cloth wear, but they looked messy. So I settled for his other versions' maroon color.

Thank you! I agree! So far, I think the 2012 is his best 3D rendering. The 2018 looks like it could use some work, maybe I can try to fix it, perhaps?
And the more live action ones of the movies, I agree, I don't think he or his adopted sons look good in that format. Near absolute nightmare fuel.

I've played the older games, and never really got attached to their Splinters, since they had short screen time.
But this version of Splinter, is the one I grew up with. And after seeing the many designs and iterations later on,
I still believe this one stands out the best. So yeah, favorite Splinter as well! ^. .^
