Rainy use to be someone, used to be a contender a divine beast, one of the greatest earthly servants of divinity. That wasn't good enough for the vain, narcissistic Rainbow Bird though. With his radiant, shimmering feathers and and a over 100m wingspan, Rhodon soared above the lands and basked in the prayers directed toward him.
It really didn't surprise anyone when he eventually decided he was a god himself, he was kind of stupid like that.
His cult, long suffering and fed up, quickly acted. It's most devout member gaining the favor of the gods, ascending to become the new Rainbow Bird. Rhodon, however, was rightly not seen as a true threat, so rather than being destroyed, he was merely.... reduced to his current form.
Some humility was in order for the former lord, now under the thumb of the cult that once served him. They greatly enjoy using him for the most menial and humiliating tasks. Underdressed errands, singing in the dining hall, cleaning the talons of the new bird of paradise Selaph.
His new name is Rainy, for the way his eyes always start watering when reminded of his station.

Had Rainy in mind for a while, partially inspired by Suirano's Amargon, but a bit different, other side of the coin
