That's my character. . . I know it's not so great, but he's supposed to be smiling and looking up at the aphid.
but I understand how it could look like that. sigh.

They only sometimes have wings. Usually it's just the males :)

aphids don't get enough exposure! they're terrible pests but iv'e always had a soft spot for em x)

I can't help but be on the side of pests most of the time. I mean, they're so cute!! Aphids are probably one of the most satisfying organisms on the planet. They look identical to what they (basically) are - walking/flying sacs of sugar!

and they are beautiful in their efficiency. iv'e always liked that about pests. dandelions are the other thing like that that i love that work in much the same way.

It looks kind of more like a katydid than it does like an aphid overall. >.>

. . . yeah? Katydids have opaque wings (if wings are present usually you can't see the body), chewing mouthparts, little round eyes located at the top of their head, big ole' hopping legs. . .
I mean, they're both green, roundish, herbaceous (mostly) insects. And I know this aphid anatomy isn't anywhere near perfect, but it certainly looks more like this[/url or [http://www.ozanimals.com/image/albums/australia/Insect/IMGP7415-600.jpg]this than this or this juvenile katydid, even!

Hm, it wasn't intended to be offensive, my apologies. I actually hadn't seen pictures of that specific species of aphid before. There were several pictures of katydids I'd found that, apart from the opaque wings, looked incredibly similar. It was merely an observation, however and not a criticism. :3

UG I know right? sooo cute. sooo taste. sooo socially complex.

They're fucking adorable. When I worked in the garden center at Ballsmart I pretended not to notice them destroying the Tomatoes and purposely let them live cuz I love dem. I watched one pooping out babies one day, that was pretty goddamn adorable and kindasorta changed my life forever.

Also... "taste"? Wait, is that a joke I don't get or have you actually eaten them before? XD
