I decided to do a summary of my 2024 art journey. First, it's satisfying to see a whole year of work on one picture, especially that 2024 was my first full year of me being an artist (I started drawing during the summer of 2023). Now, it's possible to see a few interesting things:
-it's possible to see when and how my fixations change, with Tails Noir game art still dominating the first three months before I kinda burned out of it, then Laika taking its place in June and July, to step back and return again in the last two months
-most of the drawings have different styles, thanks to my constant search for the art style I'm comfortable with, testing out different renderings and trying to recreate the styles of pro artists. To be honest, after some time I think few of the pieces are pretty bad (not to say ugly) and I don't like them, heh, but I decided to include them anyway because it proves that my perception of art and abilities improved.
-honestly for nearly entire 2024 I was in the one big art block, starting in January I drastically slowed down and were releasing one or two drawings per month at max. It wasn't even dependable on the amount of free time I had, in May I had very important final exams and I did the same amount of art as in June or July when I had unlimited amounts of free time. This peaked in the August when I released no art, as you can see in the summary. But then came the September, which was the golden month for me. I released 4 new pieces, finished 2 from previous months, created Ko-fi and got my first two commissions. From now on, even tho I started college, I was releasing art at a steady pace, creating some of the best art so far. In the last four months of 2024, I released twice as many pieces as in the previous 8 months.
Overall, I think it was a really good year for the beginner artist like me. I like the way and rate I'm improving at. I didn't manage to get to 100 followers on Twitter before the end of the year, but I'm sure I will achieve it in 2025.
Well, happy new year!
