Starting 2025 with something that I should’ve posted last year; I can start the year with a retrospective of the previous one, at least.

The start of the year was promising; new clients and new subject matter (including my first mecha painting), as well as a good flow of ideas for personal work. Starting from August and September, however, I started going through a possible streak of burnout that impacted my work output; I could power through commissions (since I didn’t want to disappoint my clients, natch) but my personal work suffered a hit, so that was slowed down for a while.

While in the later months I did receive some new clients and some more work, I was definitely feeling the bite of not having a stable source of work, and so I signed up for a full time job in a different industry which meant that going forward I would no longer be offering commissions in 2025 and possibly beyond. A possible consequence of that was that it alleviated my burnout somewhat, and I could get to doing some personal work again in December.

Since I will be starting my full-time job in February this year, this will probably be the last Art Summary I’ll post. I’ll still be making personal work, but it’ll probably not be enough to fully stock a future Art Summary. We’ll see what happens when the time comes.
