First art of the year, my new character Squee the Squirrel.

She is a very important character to me because she is based off of a very important little animal that was in my life when I really needed her. I had several operations on my feet when I was a kid. We had befriended this little black squirrel that regularly for the next 2+ years would come to my yard daily. She warmed up to us to the point she would sit on your lap, climb to your shoulder, pet her and give her a peanut directly from your mouth. Over time she brought her babies and then we had several squirrels visiting us.

When I would have operations, i would be home from school for several months at a time. My friends would be at school and so I spent a lot of time alone(outside of my parents being there of course.) But this tiny little being….she made me so happy to see her whenever she would visit. I am so surprised I never made her a character to always remember her sooner.
