2024 was an absolute hellhole for me and my family - there were very few good things that happened this year, but thankfully those were the things that got me through it. I started the year almost losing my dad in a sudden way, but thankfully he was able to fight through and make a full recovery but it was not long before he was back in hospital with something else. He has been having the same issues with this on and off for the rest of the year and unfortunately he’s carrying it into the new year too- we just hope that things get more positive for him and he’s able to keep fighting.
I was rushed into hospital twice myself, had a surgery with unforeseen complications, my stay and the actual surgery itself sadly left me with ptsd and I’m unable to properly talk about the whole thing yet, but I’m under supervision and on antidepressants and likely will be going to therapy at some point this year when I feel like I’m ready.
My mums physical health hasn’t been great, and her mental health has been taking a toll since she’s had to look after both my dad and me once I went into hospital, but thankfully I’m able to do more at this point (with a long way to go) so it’s been a bit easier for her recently too 🙏🏻
There’s been a lot going on in the background too with my other family members including attempted break-ins, other health complications and it’s just… it’s been heavy;; so I hope that this year brings good health above all else for everyone.
As for the good stuff, my partner proposed to me in London and of course I said yes!! The absolute highlight of this year to be asked by the love of my life ❤️
I was able to see The Driver Era and Almost Monday twice, even got to meet the singers of AM and they recognised me on the second show and gave me a huge hug!! I got to experience these with a close friend and the other shows it’s my sister and eldest niece <3 I met a lot of nice people when we were waiting in line too at both shows.
My partner and I managed to squeeze in a short trip to Amsterdam and we loved every minute, it was nice to escape even if it was only for a few days.
My workplace has thankfully been extremely accommodating with the changes after my surgery both physically and mentally (perks of working in pharmaceuticals with an empathetic responsible pharmacist) so much so that they’ve planned and revamped over half of the back of the pharmacy so I don’t need to ask for help with anything and can manage things alone if needed 🙏🏻 I’m so thankful for everything they’ve done!
So, I hope I can get more better memories, and so can my family in this new year. I would also like to be able to draw more 🥲 I barely got to do anything this year;;
I hope you all had an amazing new years ❤️
