My first writing of this year, and it's for the group, Thursday_Prompt .
Their prompt this week, Jan 2, 2025: numbers
This was my first idea: a survey about schools. I looked up statistics, but found no substantial surveys. The numbers in this are made up as it's how I expect the generation to be. I would have made something as duality, but then I remembered that it can't be black and white.

I liked it! Really felt like the beginning to a scary sci-fi or sudo horror flick! I can see the fuzzy tv screen slowly get zoomed in before cutting to the new reports, hearing the study, the breakdown, and how it slowly fades back out to the tester coming home! Well done with capturing the stagnant, raw feeling of the subject as well!
Social media was a mistake. I am glad that when I was in school there were no smart phones. I see the same thing in public transit. I can sit a hour and a half long train ride without any entertainment, I just watch the scenery or rest my eyes, but younger folk tend to be glued onto their devices. Nothing bad with connectivity as such. But really, some people are addicted to their device.
Well written. Nice blend of fact and fiction. The numbers might not be true to reality, but they do follow the trends seen in real life. Well done.

I am Finnish, I live in Finland, in Tampere, and there is a railroad that goes straight from Tampere to Helsinki, our capital city. My mother lives in another town along that track and I visit her once or twice per year. The trip takes like an hour and a half and costs 12 euros. There are trains departing to Helsinki about every hour from Tampere during the day, it is a pretty busy track. Parola is also along that same track, Parola is the place where I did my mandatory military service, and used the train every weekend to get back home and then return to the garrison. So, I might use the train only a few times per year at the moment, but I have probably taken hundreds of train rides during my life.
