What Damaska is doing here is actually what a lead-heir does when his king isn't present or just not able to do his duties. So, she's basically Matthias's lead-heir now, but just until the actual lead-heir is old enough to perform his tasks.

Under normal circumstances though, her duties as a majordomo are restricted to only commanding her fellow cells to guard the nest, clean the nest, babysitting the pups when Matthias is out hunting, build more dens when the pack grows larger, clean Matthias's bath water, replacing the bedding of Matthias and his pups with new fresh materials etc. The majordomo basically only reigns over other cells on behalve of the king, while the king and his lead-heir do so over their own kind. But, the king may talk regularly with his majordomo about some business or issues, too.

Matthias still doesn't like cells, but because these hijacked ones are now part of his pack and do the housekeeping stuff for him, he's much kinder to them than he is to non-hijacked cells, and he provides them of protection in return for their help (even though they only help him because they're being mind controlled by him). Any virion who shows disrespect to and/or tries to harm a hijacked cell, will receive a penalty.

Virus Attack is a science-based fantasy webcomic about COVID-19 and how the human immune system fights this disease. However, keep in mind that I'm only a virus enthusiast and that I never went to a school to learn all that I know. I mainly learned everything from either books or scientific websites. I also have ASD-related learning difficulties and thus I might've interpret and/or read things wrong. Some of the lore that I use for the creatures in this comic are made up and more based on the animal models that I use for them as well.
