My client wanted to have me draw the character they bought in 2023 in a scenery of loneliness. This character was made to be the Goddess of Loneliness. When I drew this, I tapped into the feeling I was having being left alone from my ex-lover. The deep desire to be swallowed and eliminated. At the same time I remembered when I was in the hospital all alone and no one visited me.
The reason I chose a baseball field instead of a hospital or a bench or something cliche you'd think would emote sadness, I used the bleachers I would pass every day and how their emptiness made me ache for all the kids who looked towards the spot their parents were supposed to be. The feeling of something being more important to supporting them in their developmental years.
I chose the white dress because I was thinking of La Llorona and the pain she felt. It's not exact but just inspired.
I know what it feels like and one of my personal goals in life was to make sure no one ever felt the way I felt at any point in my life. I condensed it in one photo.
