I'd say this is my biggest 3D print project yet - Grimlock!
What's kinda funny is that in the initial modeling in SketchUp, I brought in my Optimus model (which, when printed, stands about 7 inches tall) to make sure he was scaled properly (i.e. much taller). But that's when I noticed he was TOO SMALL, so I scaled him up 25%. G1 Grimlock may be a bit of a numbskull (in the cartoon, at least), but he still has a massive physical presence, and I wanted to capture that.
After printing the head and the body, I then felt that I had made the head too small in proportion to his body, and scaled it up another 20%. I don't consider it a waste though - aside from some of the creative process always carrying a degree of trial and error, I did want to have a "prototype" of the head to keep as a memento.
