By the Holy Guillotine I order you !!!
Lore question: has genetic technology advanced sufficiently to allow transitioning to/from hybridness? Also, how prevalent is the demand for such treatment?
My logic for this is that many furries desire to be anthropomorphic animal in real life. In a world where those they aren’t merely theoretical this desire would skyrocket possibly causing a mental health crisis (widespread jealousy and exacerbated body dysphoria). I feel a non-insubstantial amount of people would take action to make the solutions possible and easier to access.
Sorry if I’m taking the lighthearted slice-of-life comic about teenage dragons too seriously, it’s just interesting to think about

I don’t think so. We’ve never actually gotten a reason as to why people are born as hybrids in this universe, just that there is a chance of it happening. I’m sure you’re right that there are furries who would want to become their fursonas in real life in that universe too, but we haven’t seen them. Also, if the Romero family’s previous hometown and Larissa are any indication, there may be some people with prejudices against hybrids that we haven’t seen because the main setting is Hybrid City, where there wouldn’t be as much of it in public.
And now that I think about it, it has been established that there are hybrid traffickers in this universe.
