Yet another quick horse practice sketch that turned into a full blown illustration. :P
Nur is once again dealing with cavalry, but this time they are not using just spears. Riding close to the enemy infantry lines and unloading several guns before quickly retreating was a pretty common tactic in the early modern era, and Nur is dealing with just that. Thankfully his father Rahan managed to jump in front of him and deflected the bullet with his own helmet. It must have been a pretty hard hit, but his helmet is sturdy enough, so he'll likely walk away with only a headache.

The ringing of that helmet will never leave him. Welcome to the world of tinnitus, Rahan.
Also, it may not have pierced, but taking a bullet to the head will likely give him problems for years. I know he doesn't return from war, but that's a concussion, and likely some serious neck injuries. At least Nur is fine here.

Another great art, it's always pleasant to watch your work ā„
And that's pure realism yeah, early modern firearms were large caliber, soft lead projectile, low (compared to modern firearms) velocity. It indeed would bounce off sturdy enough helmet, but I doubt he'd be able to walk away on his own after impact like that. Let's say it's much worse than getting hit on head with hammer per kinetic energy being traded. Most likely he'd need someone to carry him off the battlefied, hehe.
