A Rhapsody From Beyond Reason
This is my attempt at what poets would call a 'dramatic reading', although I can't get enough drama and emotion into my voice even if you injected me with a distillation of Shatner and Frank Herbert. :3
I wrote this poem while listening to the piece which backs it, and only afterwards realised that the two fitted together rather well. I'm no professional I know, but I hope you enjoy it anyway. :3
Lyrics/poetry by me,
Jeevestheroo backing music belongs, of course, to the Battlestar Galactica score composer. I believe this falls under 'fair use' since the main focus and body of the content is my own, but if not I'll remove it. :D

Lyrics/poetry by me,

A Rhapsody From Beyond Reason.
I once went walking down a path,
Devoid of death and life alike.
I tossed back my head, listening,
For the sounds of wind or rain,
And for my father's long lost voice.
I listened with my heart and my soul.
For the secrets of the universe.
That they might be revealed to me.
But instead, I heard music. Sweet song.
The road, the earth, the sky itself sang.
It sang to me from inside a dream,
Beyond my death, through time and space.
A melody from a child's heart,
A harmony from a machine's mind.
I gave it voice, true meaning.
And five lights sang alongside me.
Five star-lit points of perfection.
The oldest, the bravest.
The final notes in god's chorus to the world.
Their words were soft, mysterious.
Terrifying in their solemn truth.
I listened, I couldn't close my ears.
They spoke with me until I wept.
Till I begged them to say no more.
But my tears, they ran pure. Holy.
Washing away my fear. Guiding me home.
A lone watchtower, showing the way.
Bringing a lost soul to rest.

Now, you may call me biased, and perhaps I am. But I know what I like, and I know what I hear.
I hear emotion, and the music was perfect for this poem.
the Only thing I would have to say, was the pauses were in my own lil opinion just a teeny too long. However on the other side of the coin, it did Not take away from it at all.
That being said, you should post this on FH. ^_^
