it seems common knowledge that chocolate is toxic to dogs, but it is in fact toxic to cats and birds as well. Humans also, all on account of its theobromine content, but humans are substantially better at metabolizing it and so are much more inclined to survive its consumption. Or so I am told.
since I rarely select a pertinent option, i just noticed now that the species list has both "canine (other)" and "dog (other)" along with "feline (other)" but no redundant "cat (other)"

We're a stubborn species, but also a fragile one. Too much of anything can kill us, including chocolate.
And, there's the folks that have a horrible allergic reaction to chocolate candy. I knew of one such individual that was a cashier for a nearby grocery store. Working near chocolate was a huge no-no for her.

Ultimately I was, as usual, looking for characters styled like this other from my own that I would hopefully reach additional people who like some of the same aesthetics as me through the drawing of, and anything apart from that was secondary! My initial "idea" involved the harvesting of cacao beans and seemed too grim and specific for such cute garbage. More than pet poisoning, apparently!
