(Surprise everybody! We have another something from the Green Lantern AU that's been featured before! As clarified before to remind everyone.  HybridProductions~ commisioned this piece from  joesanchez, and I just want to let you know who gets the appropriate credit.)

(The following will contain spoilers for this AU's lore.)

Back before Bluestar had gained his Indigo Ring of Compassion, he was still rookie within the Blue Lantern Corps who had been assigned by Saint Walker to assist the Green Lantern Corps who were stationed at the planet Oa. Which was how he came to meet Tourmaline and Kilowog, and began to bond with them.

One day, the Bolovaxian had been assigned a mission that was originally supposed to have him going solo. Before to his surprise, the male human was assigned to assist him to also gain experience. What neither of them knew was how this decision would ultimately turn out to be a huge boon.

As the two of them were doing a patrol within space... A bolt of yellow energy came right for them! Luckily they managed to dodge it! But they couldn't help but feel some energy from it... The energy of Fear. And it was soon they turned to face the culprit...

And he was none other than Arkillo... One of the deadliest members of the Sinestro Corps (Yellow Lantern Corps)! And before Bluestar and Kilowog could try to fight back, they were soon having to run for their lives as Arkillo relentlessly started chasing after them! Trying to blast them with the power of energised fear while our two heroes struggled to fight back!

Yet as the human and Bolovaxian started to get winded, an opening soon revealed itself! The Vornian was momentarily distracted, giving them a chance to hide behind a large rock they had spotted during their battle! Though it would not last forever, as Arkillo soon started searching nearby for them. No doubt sensing a small amount of fear that was leading him to them.

This was not looking good for both Bluestar and Kilowog. With the former's inexperience, and the latter's ring being low on energy, this situation may not have ended well for them both...

But then... The human remembered Saint Walker's words... That Blue Rings of Hope were able to charge, and even power up Green Rings of Willpower. And it give him an idea... And hope. And with nothing else to lose... He took the chance, and started to recite the oath all Blue Lantern Corp members take when being indicted.

As he recited the oath, the Blue Ring of Hope started glowing. And soon pouring out energy that ended up enveloping Kilowog. Energy that soon poured into the Green Ring of Willpower, as it soon started glowing bright. The sign that the Bolovaxian had been given energy, before realising that Bluestar was empowering him with more than enough Hope to enhance his Willpower!

As the Blue Lantern oath had been fully recited, Arkillo who had been listening soon turned to face both superheroes he had been pursuing. No doubt he would have finished them off... If the sight of a Hope enhanced Kilowog hadn't been in full view, which ironically made him experience the fear he used as his power. It was clear that with both Willpower and Hope together, Kilowog will be turning the tables on the Vornian who had mercilessly pursued them earlier! And that was what he did, before both the Bolovaxian and human made their return to the Green Lantern Corps to report on what had happened.

As thanks, Kilowog would credit Bluestar for the powerful Hope that had helped save the day. And come to trust the human enough to learn his real name, Benjamin Fulton as a sign of that trust and friendship.
