This moment occurs in the middle of the story as the gang continue their journey to Pititi. They are forced to take a longer route and off roads  to avoid Odysseus, who hunting them down. Tad and his friends managed to narrowly escape them, but the constant pursuit begins to wear on them, especially Tad.

He had been enduring the Jaguar trials at the start of their trip. While he manages to get some sleep during the nights during travels, the whole experience is physically exhausting for him. Furthermore, the curse is still attempting to take a permanent hold on him, causing him to transform in and out of his Jaguar form randomly, sometimes only halfway.
Sara notices this and suggests that Tad take a break from the trials, especially since they are still at least a mile away from Machu Picchu, their first destination before heading to the desert and then the hidden jungles of Pititi.
