Starting from the 2nd semester, I finally get to attend a real animation class. So, naturally, I'm excited! XD Specifically, 2D animation. (There'll be a 3D animation class, too, in my future semesters, but that's not relevant for now.) To test just how well we are at animation, the lecturer gave us a task: buy a memo pad and animate whatever the hell we want with it, treating it like a flipbook. Because I'm slightly a bit ego-ish, I chose my own fursona as the subject. ^_^;;
I haven't done any animations for ages, so I was afraid that my animation skills may have gone rusty in time. x_x Good thing I haven't lost the ability to animate yet (and with lots of practice, I should be able to do better). I have more confidence with animation now. Admittedly, my most favorite part to animate in this animation is my ears. ^_^;; They're just fun to animate. (Secondary animation FTW! XDDD) Which is also why I made myself do a 360° turn so those ears can swing more. My tail is more tricky to animate, though, but I think I did it quite well, too.
In converting this flipbook animation into an animated GIF, I had to scan each frames one by one and save them all as separate frames. Not that easy. x_x Scanning the whole thing took me about 1 hour to finish, without even taking a break at all. That, and I had to be careful to handle the memo pad delicately on the scanner.
Expect more animations from me soon, hopefully.
