"A young troublemaking kid named Darren is volunteered by his parents to join a program a new railroad nearby has started. Helping youths build character by working on it. Darren isn't too thrilled about being volunteered but he likes trains well enough so he decides to go for it.

When he gets there though, the manager of the railway pulls him aside to a private spot and Darren finds out this "program" involves him being turned into a steam train via magic. Apparently the manager is hoping to revitalize railways with living trains.
Darren is completely weirded out at his transformation into a tank engine but the manager assures him he'll get used to it and gets ready to take it to his shed. Darren can't help but internally note his parents will freak when they find this out.

The exact model of train Darren turns into should be this one [ref] and he should have a face on the front of it like the engines from "Thomas The Tank Engine and Friends" (Although I should note, this does NOT take place in a Thomas and Friends universe. This is it's own separate thing even if it's inspired by it)"
