Her full name is "Shadow Cast by the Light of the Moon," but she goes my MoonShadow because it's shorter. MoonShadow is a member o a race of rats living in the cavernous sewers beneath a major city. These rats have a very fast metabolism, so they spend nearly all their time eating or finding food. The rest of time is evidently spent reproducing, because they're very overcrowded in their subterranean home. They sometimes venture above ground to find food, which can often cause problems, but the local authorities have deemed it better to leave them be. Trying to force them out of the sewers would only rile them up and cause them to become aggressive. With their sheer numbers, such an event would be very bad for the city. Due to overpopulation and a high food demand, food is often scarce for them, and cannibalism is not uncommon. MoonShadow was the runt of her family, so when they became desperate for food, they turned on her. In her defense, she managed to kill them and escaped to the surface. She now lives above ground in the city, stealing food at every opportunity using the thief skills she developed out of necessity.
