A new year meant a new species, apparently. Sarge was used to it, but Chomby wasn't.

Chomby leaned against his friend, formerly a werewolf, and pressed the top of his head into their side. The former-werewolf, Sarge, was examining the scales on his arm but looked at Chomby when he felt his belly get pushed in.

"You okay, Chomby?" Sarge asked. The former werewolf flicked his tongue out and chuckled. "You're being awfully cuddly right now."

"Just... experiencing things?" Chomby said. "I need to feel my comfort squish to keep me grounded."

"Comfort Squish? Are you referring to me?" Sarge asked.

"Yeah! You're like my big, safety blanket. Big, soft, round, comforting..." Chomby lifted an arm and gently hefted up Sarge's belly with his elbow. "This is all too weird for me."

"Being a snake?" Sarge asked. He watched as Chomby's tail grabbed a hold of his own. Sarge responded by coiling his tail around Chomby's.

"Yeah... I ate cake, Sarge." Chomby groaned.

"That isn't... a bodily function exclusive to snakes." Sarge scratched his head.

"And like... the cake is still going down my esophagus!" Chomby pressed his head deeper into Sarge's belly and splayed himself out. "It's been two hours, Sarge! I'm weirded out!"

"Ahh, yeah, I know." Sarge sighed and looked down at himself. "I know actual snakes take a long time to swallow their food, but I really didn't expect that to be the case here." Sarge poked his belly. "I think my lunch from a day ago just made it to my stomach..."

"This is weeeeeeeeeeeird!" Chomby whined as he shook his body around. "How am I supposed to eat anything?"

"Very slowly, Chomby." Sarge sighed. "Very slowly."
