They are mostly one in the same other than obviously my online character can do things I cant do in real life and has background lore, but otherwise a lot of this information pertains to me and by extension my online persona because online Im pretty much behaving as I would in real life only Im even more comfortable (for the most part) myself online than I do in real life.
Oh boy. Admitting to liking games? Please prevent me from geeking out.
On a different note, I appreciate that you don't go out of your way to be mean to people. There are too many people who distrust others, and so they go out of their way to be mean. I wish there were more people who had that restraint.

I try not to be mean, but sometimes I might come off as being mean when I don't really intend to. Or if someone hits on a pet peeve I might respond in an annoyed manner that may give the impression I'm mean or don't like someone when typically such annoyance quickly goes away as long as its not repeated.
It's much harder in text form. People don't come onto the net to be negotiators or master authors, so the way a sentence is written, people read tones that aren't actually there. And we shouldn't need to post disclaimers to tell people we aren't upset when we're saying something... but yeah, tone is so difficult to sense in typing form.
Verbally though... I don't know if it's face to face or a voice call, but not being able to see a person's face makes it difficult to determine what someone is feeling when they speak. As much as the net, phones, etc. have opened up communication for us, we still suck at it.
End of the day, best you can do is apologize, explain that it wasn't your intention, and hope they accept.
