I'm sure I hardly need explain Doyng [*], the six-plunger-legged Space Dog pet from the Mork and Mindy Saturday morning cartoon. At most I need to explain why I drew him.
Well, I remembered the Mork and Mindy cartoon and watched a couple episodes and it's ... certainly a Saturday morning adaptation of a popular sitcom, as was the custom in the day. Added into the series was Doyng, the zany animal companion voiced by --- how did you guess? --- Frank Welker and I was reminded of the existence of this critter. And his goofy, friendly face and segmented body that can come apart for short whiles. Also, for some reason, that his paws are plungers. So there you go.
[*] It seems his name in the series was spelled Doing, so I changed it in order to be clear about how you pronounce it and make it remotely searchable.

I regret to tell you it's not a good cartoon. But Doyng has got a pretty neat design and occasionally there's a nice bit of weirdness.
(The show is up at https://archive.org/details/Mork-an.....imated-Series/ for now at least.)

Might have come out purple on an actual TV set! I was approximating the color from a screen grab from a YouTube video or whatever, so while I'm sure the plunger feet are supposed to be red everything else is up to interpretation. My hunch is the colors are ones that would have looked al little more purple broadcast on a tube TV but I haven't learned anything about the shift in how colors present on flatscreen versus cathode-ray sets.
