It was inspired by reading his stories because I had never read the word ''ocarina'' in a story before.
The axes represent the six directions of movement which this powerful artifact facilitates, as well as its myriad of powers. The six musical notes represent the six different tones a five-holed ocarina can produce. The object's magical power is glowing.
The fish-shaped ocarina itself is a four-hole ocarina I got in Death Valley on my trip ''around'' California in 1995.

OK, this sounds hekka weird, but it really works to get songs unstuck from your head.
Sing the song "Dreamweaver" by Gary Wright.
->Whoa oh oh, Dream-weaver, I believe you can get me through the ni-ight!
Sing that over and over for awhile. It will obliterate the other song from your head, yet strangely will not linger itself.
I didn't believe it would work until I tried it, and songs are always getting stuck in my noggin!
