I mean, if you want to get technical about it, it's still an indie project because Spindlehorse and Princess Bento did all of the animation work (both of which are small studios), the creator started the whole thing with and as indie developers, and A24 is also a small business that itself is known for supporting indie developers and is the company that owns the copyright, distribution rights, and merchandising rights for Hazbin Hotel, Amazon merely owns a license that allows them to stream Hazbin Hotel, they do not own the IP for it.
So TLDR: Hazbin Hotel is still an Indie Project, it's just received the kind of backing that every indie dev wishes for.
