First chapters can be hard, and I tried a different structure with this one compared to my other stories. I originally planned on this just being a one shot but kind of fell in love with the characters. So, if people like it, I will happily continue this story while I continue to break out what I want to happen in my other stories.

As always comments mean the world to me and help me get an idea of what people like.

I really like the story so far going through his day at daycare and Eliot acting small was very cute and also was cute when he got embarrassed, it’s nice that Chloe can tell Eliot needs some extra help and pushes him to do activities and not hide in his corner. Henry seems like a good friend helping him and trying to figure out how to take care of his friend.

I really can’t wait to read more if you continue 😸

I'm really enjoying the story so far. Coincidentally, I was searching for a story that takes place in a Day Care setting, and yours just came at the right time. I personally prefer wholesome stories, and I'm glad to see that it turned out to be one. It's also lovely to hear that you plan on continuing the story instead of making it a one shot.

I will be looking forward to the next Chapter. Keep up the good work.

Heheheh, also, I just love the angle that his best friend and pseudo big brother is now becoming his Daddy! I'd be willing to bet that the first time Eliot slips up and calls him Daddy accidentally will just melt the big tiger's heart.

The story was delightful, more of it would be very nice. What about the structure was different? I noticed there was an omniscient perspective, though I don't recall whether that's typical of your writing.

So happy that you liked it. I tried to have the story jump into things more and not have the first chapter be Eliot and Henry's first night together. This and maybe some more use of flash backs for character development.

That makes sense, it did feel like it got to the meat of the story (kinda like the storytelling equivilent of a metriodvania). I'd expect the next chapter or two to slow down a little. Maybe we'll see some of their home life and the general setting

Yeah, I think that its because it grew out of a one shot but I kind of like it. My goal is to get better at gaps in time and not just write literately every moment.

i really really like it! the pace was fast in a good way, with the flashbacks not feeling out of place. and i did find myself getting attached to the characters, especially by the end. ^w^

Off to a good start.
I had figured (and confirmed by one reply I saw) that Moon Scouts was evidence of this being in the same universe as When You Break Free.
I notice a few other parallels between this story and that as well. But I haven’t had a chance to dive into your other stories so I don’t know how they compare in that regard.
In any case, I’m definitely looking forward to more of this story!

Yeah I don't know if its marvel level shared universe more the like the viewaskew universe level, but I like to think one day they may all meet each other.
