Thanks - I'm pretty pleased with it :) (And glad you enjoyed the story! Need to get back to that one sometime...) The refrain seemed fitting, even if it's not part of the formal structure; I've always found poems/songs that restate a phrase/concept in different ways to have kind of a hypnotic quality, and it was fun to get to do that here.
