OK so I got a genuine Cuban cigar from my co-worker brought back from her trip to Mexico. That's great and all that, but the thing is I don't smoke the things. Now I'm not part of the brandy and cigar crowd, but I figure with Anthrocon coming up that might be reason to light it up.
Does anyone know how to best store and/or transport these things? I may be taking my little friend here with me. :)

If it's just one, you can use a simple ziplock bag. Humidors only really make sense if you're storing a bunch. Pack it in your carry-on, so you can ensure it doesn't get squashed.
I wasted a lot of my formative years in smoke shops. I know *way* too much minutiae. Also, get a cigar cutter. Useful tool (should cost a buck or two) because biting off the end ruins a good cigar by ruining the draw.

If you're going to hold on to it for a while (longer than a week or two) I suggest dropping it into an open ziplock bag, placing the opened bag into a Tupperware container, and putting a bit of water in a bowl (or wetting a paper towel) in the other corner of the Tupperware bowl. Partially seal the thing and put it where it'll stay stable. Just make sure the cigar itself never actually gets wet.
The idea is to keep things at about 68 - 74% humidity inside the container. That will keep the cigar in good shape until you get around to smoking it.
It's a different culture than the cigs you are used to. Cigars and pipes require that you deliberately smoke them as you have to devote at least 30-45 minutes to them.
